Becoming The One

Great Joy Is Coming!

Are you waiting for God to do something important in your life?

Did He give you a promise, and now you are waiting for Him to fulfill it?

Whenever we are waiting for God to act, we need to remember He will do what He said. Waiting is a battlefield, and on that battlefield, the enemy tries to push us into discouragement:

“Did God really promise this to you?”

“How do you know this will actually happen?”

“Are you sure you can trust Him?”

“Why are you just standing here? You need to make the promise happen yourself!”

But the truth is, the God who performed miracles in Scripture is the same God who is taking care of you now. You are the center of His attention—the apple of His eye, as the Bible says—and He loves you. He made a promise, and He will keep that promise.

In every waiting period, remember:

  • The good things of God are coming to you.

  • You will see Him do exactly what He said.

If you need a financial miracle, if you’re trying to land your dream job, if you’re single and wanting to get married, if you’re praying for a miraculous healing, whatever is on your heart today…

The promise is coming. You can trust your heavenly Father.

At the right time, I, the Lord, will make it happen. (Isa. 60:22 NLT)

The promise God made you rests on His shoulders, not yours, so you don’t need to try to make it happen on your own. You get to let go of all striving and human “pushing,” and simply trust the Lord to move at the right time. If you need to go somewhere or do something, He will show you.

He keeps His word. That is who He is. He is faithful, and that faithfulness comes out of a tender heart (Ps. 145:9).

Don’t believe any discouraging voices!

God makes those who arrive last equal with those who arrive first:

“Take your pay and go. I want to give the one who was hired last the same as I gave you. Don’t I have the right to do what I want with my own money? Or are you envious because I am generous?” So the last will be first, and the first will be last. (Matt. 20:14–16 NIV)

This description of God is a “wonder” that can’t always be understood, but He saves the best for last:

“A host always serves the best wine first,” he said. “Then, when everyone has had a lot to drink, he brings out the less expensive wine. But you have kept the best until now!” (John 2:10 NLT)

Those who wait for Him are never disappointed:

Then you will know that I am the Lord.
Those who trust in me will never be put to shame. (Isa. 49:23 NLT)

What are you waiting for today?

The promise is good! One day you will see its fulfillment, if you don’t give up. Don’t listen to any voice that tries to pull down your hope. Treasure what God told you and keep it in your heart, knowing great joy is coming.
