Simple Reminders of God’s Faithfulness
Does your heart need to remember the faithfulness of God?
From time to time, all of us need a reminder of His faithfulness. He is always faithful—every time, no matter what—but we don’t always perceive it because of the different things we struggle with.
He is not afraid of darkness, failures, or shortcomings. Even when it seems like everything is falling apart, He’s doing things on your behalf, and you can always expect Him to have a good plan in mind.
So take a deep breath, let it out, and choose to believe the faithfulness of God. Remember His faithfulness, and set your heart to see Him and the good things He’s doing in your life. He will accomplish in perfect faithfulness exactly what He said He would do.
Here are a few thoughts on the faithfulness of God along with some journaling ideas to help you spend time with Him and see His heart.
The Faithfulness of God’s Love Toward You
But as for me, I will sing about your power.
Each morning I will sing with joy about your unfailing love.
For you have been my refuge,
a place of safety when I am in distress. (Ps. 59:16 NLT)
Every morning make the decision to look at the Lord’s love. Set your gaze on it. Choose to see it and feel it, and let it become real to your heart.
Speak aloud the following declarations, and think about what they mean for you:
He’s good—seriously good—and I will see His goodness.
His power is so great that I can’t comprehend it.
He truly loves me.
His love is my safe place.
He is for me unfailing acceptance.
He is my comfort when I’m feeling anxious, disturbed, or out of place.
Journaling idea: Sit in the Lord’s presence and write about His love for you. Not just His love for His people, but His unfailing love for YOU.
The Faithfulness of God’s Word for You
For the word of the Lord holds true,
and we can trust everything he does. (Ps. 33:4 NLT)
For God’s Word is solid to the core;
everything he makes is sound inside and out.
He loves it when everything fits,
when his world is in plumb-line true.
Earth is drenched
in God’s affectionate satisfaction. (Ps. 33:4–5 MSG)
Speak aloud the following declarations, and think about what they mean for you:
God’s Word is steady, dependable, pure, and solid in my life.
I can trust Him in every situation, with every detail.
His Word does what He intends it to do.
I can trust Him to do what He said.
I can trust Him just to be Himself in every situation.
Journaling idea: Pick a verse that speaks to your heart, and journal about it. What does it tell you about God’s faithfulness even if the word faithfulness or faithful isn’t mentioned?
The Faithfulness of God’s Protection in Your Life
I love you, Lord;
you are my strength.
The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my savior;
my God is my rock, in whom I find protection.
He is my shield, the power that saves me,
and my place of safety. (Ps. 18:1–2 NLT)
Speak aloud the following declarations, and think about what they mean for you:
My heart longs for the Lord.
He is my strength.
He is my rock and my Savior.
He is my unshakeable fortress where I find protection.
He stands between me and the darkness trying to threaten me.
He is my place of safety and the only power that saves me.
I am safe with Him. Constantly. Always. Without fail or doubt.
Journaling idea: Sit in the Lord’s presence and write about Psalm 18:1–2. What is the Lord protecting you from? How is He your strength? What makes you happy when you think of Him?
