Becoming The One

You Have Heaven’s Strength

Are you facing a mountain—an obstacle so big that you feel overwhelmed just thinking about it?

“I don’t know how I’m going to do this.”

“I don’t see how this is going to work out.”

“This is impossible!”

Often when we find ourselves in a vulnerable place, we react humanly. We search inside ourselves for strength, believing, “I just need to find the strength to do this. Then I will be okay.”

“I just need to try harder.”

“I need to push myself more!”

“If only I were a different or better person.”

But one of the beautiful things about the Gospel is that we get to depend on the Lord. Looking for what we need inside ourselves is not the answer. It is wonderfully, beautifully not the answer.

What seems impossible to you is never impossible to God! (Matt. 19:26 TPT)

The impossible is possible, but it isn’t because you are able to access some hidden reservoir of strength inside yourself.

Nor is it because you suddenly have all the answers and know what to do now.

Your ability to conquer the mountain you’re facing isn’t something you came up with on your own.

Matthew 19:26 is a description of the Father and His marvelous work in your life. All things are possible because of Him. That’s the key. Your strength in life comes from the One who created you.

I told you these things so that you can have peace in me. In this world you will have trouble. But be brave! I have defeated the world! (John 16:33 ICB)

He has defeated your mountain: this obstacle that is bigger than you are.

If you are overwhelmed, tired, exhausted, weary, rundown, worried about the future, facing an impossible task—you don’t need to drum up more strength. You get to trust your heavenly Father and rely on His strength: the same strength that created the stars and all the planets. He is for you.

The God who moves mountains is your strength. That is why all things are possible—because He is the One who does those things.

You have all of heaven’s strength behind you, and because that is true, you get to rest where you have been afraid and tired. May this week be a time of sweet rest for you, as you trust your loving heavenly Father to do impossible things where you need them.
