MONDAY

He’s Your Keeper

He will not let your foot be moved;
    he who keeps you will not slumber.
Behold, he who keeps Israel
    will neither slumber nor sleep. (Ps. 121:3–4 ESV)

Do you understand how much the Lord’s heart treasures you?

God is more interested in your welfare than you realize. He is your keeper. Just as He “kept” the nation of Israel in Scripture, He will keep you. He won’t mess this up. He won’t forget His role in your life, or drop you, or get distracted—He’s in this for the long haul.

Today’s journaling question: Do you believe God is your keeper? Why or why not? Ask Him about His heart toward you.

May your Monday be blessed, and may you be able to see the Lord’s protection.

TUESDAY

He’s Coming to Save You

Out of my deep anguish and pain I prayed,
and God, you helped me as a father.
You came to my rescue and broke open the way
into a beautiful and broad place. (Ps. 118:5 TPT)

The Lord takes our anguish and pain and trades them for a “beautiful and broad place.” In other words, He takes the bad things and gives us exactly what our hearts need.

That’s a picture of what your divine keeper is like. That’s who your Father is. He’s right here as you read these words, and He’s watching over you today. React in faith and BELIEVE Him.

Today’s journaling question: Where does your heart hurt? Take that area of pain to God, and ask Him to reveal Himself in that area. Then listen to His voice and write down what He says.

May your Tuesday be blessed, and may you come to realize God’s strength in a new way.

WEDNESDAY

He’s Good and You Will See His Goodness

I certainly believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord
In the land of the living.
Wait for the Lord;
Be strong and let your heart take courage;
Yes, wait for the Lord. (Ps. 27:13–14 NASB)

God is a good and noble King who, because He is God, doesn’t follow human rules and expectations. His timeline is a mystical thing that can be hard to figure out. He might give you the answer right away, even as you’re praying, or He might ask you to wait.

But here’s the thing. If God has asked you to wait for something, you can’t lose hope because you WILL see His goodness in your life. The One who keeps you is GOOD, and He proclaims His GOODNESS in everything He does.

Today’s journaling question: Do you feel like it’s been a while since you’ve encountered the goodness of God? Ask Him to reveal His goodness to you and to help you recognize the moment when it happens.

May your Wednesday be blessed, and may you come to see His goodness more clearly.

THURSDAY

He’s With You

Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and she will name Him Immanuel. (Isa. 7:14 NASB)

The Lord’s deep desire is to be with His people. He desires our presence so much that it’s even His name—Immanuel: God With Us.

That’s His name for you today. In every situation you’re dealing with today, He is Immanuel. The One who watches over you is fighting for you and supporting you. You don’t have to face any situation alone, because He’s with you.

Today’s journaling question: Do you understand that God is with you? You are one of His treasured ones. If you feel like He isn’t with you, ask Him to open your eyes so you can see Him this week.

May your Thursday be blessed, and may your heart REJOICE in God.

FRIDAY

He’s Your Rest

Because you are close to me and always available,
my confidence will never be shaken,
for I experience your wrap-around presence every moment.
My heart and soul explode with joy—full of glory!
Even my body will rest confident and secure. (Ps. 16:8–9 TPT)

Today, you are invited to rest in God. You don’t need to try to make things happen. You don’t need to force your dreams and desires forward, and you don’t need to carry your fears and worries—He wants to carry all these things for you. You just get to rest in Him as He works.

The One who keeps you is acting on your behalf. Speak out loud who He is. Declare the nature of God in faith.

Today’s journaling question: Do you know what it means to “rest” in God? Ask Him about resting, and write down what He tells you.

May your Friday be blessed, and may your confidence in the Lord rise up strong.

SATURDAY

He Does Marvelous Things

The stone the builders rejected
    has become the cornerstone;
the Lord has done this,
    and it is marvelous in our eyes. (Ps. 118:22–23 NIV)

The works of God are marvelous. He has a way of taking unexpected things and making them the foundation of what He is doing and how He will impact people. He doesn’t follow the world’s rules, and the Bible says He laughs when nations and kings try to conquer Him (Ps. 2:1–6).

Your keeper is faithfully watching over you, and He is doing marvelous things on your behalf.

Today’s journaling question: Make a list of what God has done for you this week. Here’s the key: Include the very “small” or obvious things, such as waking up in the morning, falling asleep at night, breathing, having food to eat and clothes to wear, having access to clean water, etc.

May your Saturday be blessed, and may you behold the Lord’s love all around you.

SUNDAY

He’s Beautiful

I have asked one thing from the Lord.
This I will seek:
to remain in the Lord’s house all the days of my life
in order to gaze at the Lord’s beauty
and to search for an answer in his temple. (Ps. 27:4 GW)

Here are a few thoughts from A.W. Tozer about the beauty of the Lord:

I believe worship is admiring the beauty associated with God. If our theology is not full of beauty, it is simply because it is not full of God. Nothing about God is ugly.

Everything God does in your life is lovely. Without fail, in every situation, more than the world understands or expects, more than your heart can comprehend—He is faithful in His loveliness. You can expect Him to be beautiful in your life and in the life of your loved ones.

Today’s journaling question: Where have you seen the beauty of God in your life? Spend a few minutes journaling about it, and ask God to open your eyes so you can see His beauty more and more.

May your Sunday be blessed, and may your heart OVERFLOW with the vibrant hope of the Lord.
