In just a few days, 2020 will come to a close. For most of us, our hearts have been all over the place this year—so let’s take a moment to PAUSE:

  • Pause to remember what’s true

  • Pause to remember what it feels like to hear God’s voice

  • Pause to remember what He’s promised us

  • Pause to remember we are never without Him

  • Pause to remember His words are different than the world’s words

Here are two simple thoughts that will help you take a deep breath, refocus, and remember you aren’t alone—the Lord is right beside you and He’s doing brilliant things on your behalf.

1. “Every word the Lord has told me is true.”

Great favor is upon you, for you have believed
every word spoken to you from the Lord. (Luke 1:45 TPT)

What do you KNOW the Lord has said to you? Hold on to that promise.

It isn’t always easy to trust the Lord when He’s given you a promise, especially when you have to wait to see that promise fulfilled. At times trust is a choice and not a feeling. In fact, it could be the opposite of what you’re feeling. But when you choose to trust the Lord, you will experience favor, just as Luke 1:45 says.

Trusting the Lord is good for your heart and soul. A significant blessing comes when you choose to trust the Lord and believe what He’s told you.

Journaling with God: Sit down with the Lord, and ask Him to remind you about something He’s told you. Write down what He says or shows you. Don’t worry if your words aren’t absolutely “perfect,” but try to capture what you sense the Holy Spirit is saying.

2. “The Lord is good all the time, and I choose to believe His goodness.”

He is good to everyone, and his compassion is intertwined with everything he does. (Ps. 145:9 TLB)

Yet I totally trust you to rescue me one more time,
so that I can see once again how good you are while I’m still alive! (Ps. 27:13 TPT)

Here are a few important things to remember:

  • Many things changed in 2020. But God did not change.

  • Many people are afraid right now. But God is not afraid.

  • Many people feel like all their plans changed, and they don’t know what to do. But God’s plans remain the same, and He knows exactly what to do.

  • Many people were shocked and surprised by 2020. But God was not shocked and surprised.

  • Many people feel uncertain and are afraid of what will happen in 2021. But God is not afraid of 2021. In fact, He is happy when He thinks of it because He is doing GOOD things.

  • Many people have lost their hope. But God is the King of Hope, and He is with them, and He is with you, and you are about to see the salvation of the Lord.

Journaling with God: Pick one thing that worries you, and ask the Lord about it. Specifically, ask Him about His heart for you and what He’s doing that’s good.

Are You Ready??

Here are a few things Rochelle Holben, director of Elijah House, believes about this season:

It doesn’t matter how old or young you are, whether you’re proud of yourself or feel like a disaster—YOU have an anointing inside you that’s unique to you. This is the season for innovations, inventions, and the interpretation of dreams and visions. The rest of us need you to do what you were made to do. If you’re not here, we’re in trouble!

So let’s get ready! Let’s work together to see each other step into exactly who God made us to be—because He is about to do something incredible.

Are you ready to see God do something incredible?!

If you feel weary or confused right now, realign your heart with His heart, because that’s what you need. That’s how your heart will come back to life. Every word the Lord has told you is true, and He’s good all the time.
