Do You Need to Remember the Lord Is Your Provider?
You and your significant other don’t need to be afraid of the future, and here’s why.
Even though the world is talking about fear and shortages, God is with you. He is your Provider, not the world. The world doesn’t get to tell you what is going to happen next or how much provision is available to you—God does.
Whenever the world is full of fear, it is good to remind yourself of what the Bible says. Here is a series of declarations based on God’s Word. They describe who the Lord is and what He is like for you and your partner in this season.
The Beauty of Jesus in Difficult Times
Pray over the following verses and declarations, and see what the Lord whispers to you. He is so good that even the stars sing when He is working (Job 38:4–7). As you trust Him, you and your partner will get to see His goodness in glorious ways.
“The Lord is with my partner and me.”
The Lord is not going to abandon you and your partner. He loves being close to His people and looking after them. That’s what He does! As you trust Him, you and your partner will have everything you need going into the future.
I have been young, and now am old,
yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken
or his children begging for bread. (Ps. 37:25 ESV)
“God is taking care of my partner and me.”
Whenever you are in need, the Lord will come and take care of you. He doesn’t do this some of the time or even most of the time—but He meets all your needs all the time. When you and your partner have a need, take it to the Lord with great faith.
My God will richly fill your every need in a glorious way through Christ Yeshua. (Phil. 4:19 NOG)
“The Lord has more than enough for my partner and me.”
The Lord is looking out for you and making sure you have everything your life requires—including peace and rest.
Yahweh is my best friend and my shepherd. I always have more than enough. He offers a resting place for me in his luxurious love. His tracks take me to an oasis of peace near the quiet brook of bliss. (Ps. 23:1–2 TPT)
“God will show my partner and me what we need to do.”
The Lord will be faithful to you and your significant other because that is what He is like. He is not going to forget you or overlook you. The ability to make wealth comes from Him, not from the world or from human resources. He can teach you how to prosper, show you the jobs you should take and the skills you should develop, and lead you forward.
But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today. (Deut. 8:18 NIV)
“God’s timing is perfect for my partner and me.”
The Lord has what you need, and He will give it to you at the right time.
The eyes of all look to you in hope;
you give them their food as they need it. (Ps. 145:15 NLT)
“The Lord is hope—amazing, incredible HOPE—for my partner and me. He is what we need in this season.”
The world is filled with things to worry about, but only one thing is necessary. That is the truth for you and your significant other today. You might be worried about many things, but only one thing is necessary: being with Jesus. He knows what you need, and as you trust Him, He will lead you forward.
But the Lord answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and distracted by many things; but only one thing is necessary; for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.” (Luke 10:41–42 NASB)
“God is filling my partner and me with joy.”
The Lord is good to those who look to Him for help. Every time you go to the Lord for His help, the result is radiant joy. Not just a little joy. Not a passing amount. But more than you can handle. That’s how good He is and how much He actually wants to help you.
Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy;
no shadow of shame will darken their faces. (Ps. 34:5 NLT)
The Lord, Your Provider
God is your Provider. That is one of His beautiful names in Scripture: Yahweh-Jireh: The Lord Provides.
Abraham named that place “The Lord Provides.” And even today people say, “On the Lord’s mountain he provides.” (Gen. 22:14 GNT)
No matter what you and your partner need today—additional income, a home you can afford, answers to difficult questions, greater wisdom, good counsel from mentors, your debts paid off, a new car, learning how to better communicate with each other—He can provide for that need, because that is who He is.
