MONDAY

What a Relationship Actually Is

1 Corinthians 13:2 (TPT)

And if I were to have the gift of prophecy with a profound understanding of God’s hidden secrets, and if I possessed unending supernatural knowledge, and if I had the greatest gift of faith that could move mountains, but have never learned to love, then I am nothing.

Love is the most powerful force on earth. It is superior to knowledge, has more strength than judgment, and can bring healing to broken hearts.

With love God spoke and created (Gen. 1). With great love He made you, shaping you carefully with His hands. Because of love Jesus gave His life for you, so you don’t have to live in shame and fear anymore.

As a believer, you get to bring the good news of Jesus and reveal His love to the people around you. Your relationship isn’t separate from this calling to spread the Gospel. In fact, it plays a key role. As you love your significant other, you are declaring, “Let me show everybody who Jesus is!”

You have the chance to show the world around you a good, firm, solid picture of who God is—just by loving this other person.

Today’s prayer: Father, thank You for this opportunity to see my significant other the way You see them. Please give me a tender heart and the wisdom to love them the way You want me to. In the name of Jesus, amen.

May your Monday be blessed!

TUESDAY

Seeking God as a Couple

Matthew 6:33 (NIV)

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

What does it mean to seek God’s Kingdom in your relationship?

When we think about “seeking God’s Kingdom,” many of us probably consider it a private issue—something that happens in our hearts and in our personal walk with God.

But His Kingdom goes far beyond the choices we make in private. We get to share our relationship with God—this special aspect of who we are—with the person we’re dating.

When you pray with your partner, you are training your heart and mind to understand how God sees the person you’re falling in love with. When couples start praying together, it’s like the airwaves clear and they get a better picture of their relationship and what can happen with God at its center.

Today’s prayer: Father, please open my eyes to see my partner the way You see them. I know You have wonderful plans in mind, and I trust You with my future. In the name of Jesus, amen.

May your Tuesday be blessed!

WEDNESDAY

God’s Wisdom in Other People

Jeremiah 6:16 (NLT)

This is what the Lord says:
“Stop at the crossroads and look around.
Ask for the old, godly way, and walk in it.
Travel its path, and you will find rest for your souls.”

One of the amazing things about God is that He doesn’t push us out into the world and say, “Good luck! I hope you make it!”

Instead, He gives us good, solid roads to follow—paths other people have taken in the past. He’s been teaching His people how to overcome the world for a long time.

If you have questions about relationships, sex, your walk with God, what it means to follow Him wholeheartedly, etc., go find an older person you feel comfortable with and ask them. Tap into the wisdom of God in the people around you.

Today’s prayer: Father, thank You for putting people in my life who can help me reach my destiny. This week would You point out to me one person I should maybe spend some time with? In the name of Jesus, amen.

May your Wednesday be blessed!

THURSDAY

Victory over Fear

Psalm 44:6–7 (NLT)

I do not trust in my bow;
I do not count on my sword to save me.
You are the one who gives us victory over our enemies.

Do you feel anxious about your relationship?

All of us deal with fear—some more than others, some in “unique” and different ways. Fear is a common enemy for God’s people, and a lot of us struggle with anxiety and expecting the worst. Perhaps especially in our relationships!

In these times of fear, we need to remember we aren’t alone. It isn’t up to us in our own strength to win this war. Instead, God is the One who gives us victory over this enemy of fear.

You can fully expect your loving heavenly Father to show you the path you should take, so you can walk out of the darkness and into the warm sunlight.

You are not alone, beloved child of God. He is with you to give you victory!

Today’s prayer: Father, please show me how to depend on You in the situation I’m dealing with right now. Help me to hear Your voice. In the name of Jesus, amen.

May your Thursday be blessed!

FRIDAY

The Beautiful Outcome of Seeking God

2 Chronicles 26:3, 5 (NIV)

Uzziah was sixteen years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem fifty-two years… He sought God during the days of Zechariah, who instructed him in the fear of God. As long as he sought the Lord, God gave him success.

Uzziah was just a boy when a huge responsibility dropped on his shoulders. But he did the best thing a king could do—he sought the Lord. The Bible is very clear about what happens when a person chooses to seek God:

“As long as he sought the Lord, God gave him success.”

It doesn’t matter how old you are or what you have going on—the search for God has HUGE benefits!

Putting God first in your life will give you a better outcome than you ever expected, and you will receive an incredible prize: God Himself.

Today’s prayer: Father, thank You for being with me. Please show me how to seek You even when I’m struggling or my schedule is packed. I need more of Your wisdom and Your presence. In the name of Jesus, amen.

May your Friday be blessed!

SATURDAY

God’s Heart Toward You

Isaiah 40:11 (NIV)

He tends his flock like a shepherd:
He gathers the lambs in his arms
and carries them close to his heart;
he gently leads those that have young.

You were made for intimacy with Jesus, and His arms are your proper home.

Imagine what it would feel like to be held tightly in His arms and carried against His chest, so close you could hear His heartbeat. The peace that weathers every storm is found in His arms. When God is your focus, your peace is totally secure (Isa. 26:3).

Whatever your schedule looks like today, whether things are crazy or flowing smoothly, take some time to seek the Lord. Listen for His voice and pay attention to what you sense He’s saying to your heart.

Today’s prayer: Father, thank You for Your tender love for me! Please help me to see that love more and more. In the name of Jesus, amen.

May your Saturday be blessed!

SUNDAY

God Gives Understanding

Psalm 119:130 (GW)

Your word is a doorway that lets in light,
and it helps gullible people understand.

God makes us smarter than we actually are. Anytime we have fears, concerns, or questions, we can go to Him for understanding.

  • Maybe a question has come up in your relationship, and you don’t know what to do. That’s okay, because you’ll find answers when you spend time with God.

  • Maybe a friend or family member is struggling with a scary health issue—you can take that burden to the Lord, too.

  • Whatever you’re dealing with, God wants to give you light and hope in the area that scares you.

Today’s prayer: Thank You, Father, for always leaving the door open for me. Today I bring You this concern: _______________. I trust You with this and know You will take care of me. In the name of Jesus, amen.

May your Sunday be blessed!
