We accomplish our vision and mission by mentoring singles in the following areas.

Loving God

“And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.” -1 John 4:16

Giving and receiving love is one of the most fulfilling experiences a person can have. Both human and divine love have the power to transform, yet in its broadest sense love is a choice. Love is something we choose to do, and it is tied to our faith. Before we can be ready to love another person, we must understand what love is and the source of all love. We need to start with God’s perfect love.

Preparing for married life

Jesus declared, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” -John 4:13–14

Preparing ourselves for marriage involves opening up our hearts to the Lord, which means emotional healing. God gives us our status. He has made us His beloved children, His heirs, and He is the One who has given us our identity.

Dating with Purpose and Finding a marriage partner

“Do not arouse or awaken love until it so desires.” -Song of Songs 2:7

Becoming the one involves preparing for your future mate by finding your passion in life and understanding personal strengths and weaknesses.

Transitioning into married life

“Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God.” -Ruth 1:1

  • This experience of becoming one or uniting with your spouse can be called cleaving. In Spanish the word is unificación, but the English word cleave comes from the Greek word kollaó, which means to bond, unite, or join with. Cleaving is what you do on your wedding day when you leave your mother and father and unite with your mate for life. “A man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh. A man shall leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave to his wife” (Genesis 2:24).
  • In a marriage, unity and oneness are like rain boots and snow boots. Though they are similar to each other, you need both to be adequately prepared for the elements. Many of us have a pretty good understanding of what it means to be united with another person—we agree with them on several key points, love the same things, pursue the same things, are going the same basic direction—but the full concept of “becoming one” is often a little harder to understand.

Having a marriage that can transform the world

“If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.” -I Corinthians 13:2-3

In your marriage, you have the opportunity to impact the world. The ceremony is only the beginning of a life-changing journey. As you move past the wedding and into everyday family life, understand the Lord has great things in store for you. Transformation is the greatest purpose of your marriage.
