All over the world, people are taking time to remember who Jesus is. For some, Easter is the one day they’re willing to mention His name. For others, Easter is the day where they look at Him—really look at Him—and begin to see His light all over again.

At BTO this week, we’re praying that the truth of Jesus rolls over you like a river and that you’re able to see in new ways the One who is your Savior.

Jesus, the Hope of the World

Here are just a few reminders of who Jesus is, what He’s done for you, and what salvation means for you. You may want to read the following points out loud as declarations over your life:

  • Because of Jesus, I have no reason to fear the dark (Jas. 4:7). Where am I afraid? I can give all those fears to Him.

  • Darkness has no claim on me because of Jesus (Col. 1:13; Rom. 8:1).

  • Everything I see in the natural realm is from Jesus and for Jesus (Col. 1:16).

  • The world is “alive” and in existence because of Jesus (Col. 1:17; Heb. 1:3).

  • Jesus is the radiance of God’s glory, and He has the same nature as His Father (Heb. 1:3).

  • Jesus is my Counselor and He’s wonderful (Isa. 9:6).

  • Jesus is my Prince of Peace. All my peace is found in Him (Isa. 9:6; Phil. 4:6–7).

  • Jesus endured my punishment for me, so I could have His peace (Isa. 53:5).

  • Jesus was wounded so I could walk in real health and healing (Isa. 53:5).

  • Because of Jesus, I am healed (Isa. 53:5).

  • Jesus bore all my grief, illnesses, and suffering (Isa. 53:4).

  • Jesus took the weight of my sins for me, and they were nailed to the cross. Those things are gone forever (Isa. 53:11–12; Col. 2:13–14).

  • Everything Jesus does is abundant life (John 10:10).

  • Jesus is truth and I can trust Him completely (John 14:6; Rom. 8:28).

  • Jesus is Immanuel: “God with Us.” That’s who He is in my life: God, with me (Isa. 7:14).

Here Are a Few Prayer Ideas for This Week

1. Ask Jesus to reveal Himself to you in a new way.

The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. (Col. 1:15 NIV)

2. Early each morning, ask Jesus about His love for you. What does He want you to know about His love? What would He compare it to?

At each and every sunrise we will be thanking you
for your kindness and your love. (Ps. 92:2 TPT)

3. Ask Jesus what it means for Him to be the Prince of Peace in your life.

He will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. (Isa. 9:6 NIV)

4. Jesus is the radiance of God’s glory. Ask Him what that means for YOU, personally.

The Son is the dazzling radiance of God’s splendor, the exact expression of God’s true nature—his mirror image! (Heb. 1:3 TPT)

5. Ask Jesus why you don’t have to be afraid of darkness.

Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. (Jas. 4:7 NIV)

6. Ask Jesus to reveal His light to you. What does it mean, and how does it shine in darkness?

The people who were sitting in darkness saw a great Light,
And those who were sitting in the land and shadow of death,
Upon them a Light dawned. (Matt. 4:16 NASB)

Before You Go

In her book The Power of CommunionBeni Johnson writes:

There is power in the victorious blood of Jesus. That power was not just for the salvation of our souls at Calvary; that power is for right now. Romans says that “the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death” (Rom. 8:2 NASB). The blood of Jesus wiped out the power of sin and the judgment that leads to death. Forever… As heirs with Christ, we have that same authority through Jesus. And when I take Communion, I am not only aligning myself back up with my true identity as a daughter of God, I am also reminding the devil that he lost. The devil has to watch as I celebrate the resurrection power of Jesus.

We encourage you to take communion and remember all Jesus has done for you. His love for you will never change or end, and you can run to Him with great confidence when you’re in trouble, because taking care of you is His delight.
