Worship the Lord with Thanksgiving

It is GOOD to give thanks to the Lord (Ps. 92:1). It is good for our heart, our mind, our body, and everything around us, and it is worship at a profound level.

Our words hold great power, and when we use them to give God thanks, we bless His heart. We are like little children telling our Father how much we appreciate Him, and this is precious to Him.

Let’s take a few moments to thank the Lord for who He is, what He does for us, and how much He loves us. Read the following list out loud, and let each statement connect with your heart.

  • Thank You for Your faithfulness (1 Cor. 10:13).

  • Thank You for not allowing the enemy to overcome me (1 Cor. 10:13).

  • Thank You for Your incredible patience with me (2 Pet. 3:9).

  • Thank You for Your graciousness in my life (Ps. 116:5).

  • Thank You for Your compassion toward me (Ps. 116:5).

  • Thank You for Your love (1 John 4:8).

  • Thank You for delighting in me and rejoicing over me (Zeph. 3:17).

  • Thank You for Your favor (Ps. 84:11).

  • Thank You for Your abundant mercy (Deut. 4:31).

  • Thank You for always meaning what You say (Num. 23:19).

  • Thank You for always being on time (2 Pet. 3:9).

  • Thank You for Your good and perfect gifts (Jas. 1:17).

  • Thank You for shielding me. You are the One who keeps me safe (Ps. 18:30).

  • Thank You for bearing my burdens (Ps. 68:19).

  • Thank You for never rejecting me (2 Chron. 30:9).

  • Thank You for arming me with strength and making my way secure (2 Sam. 22:33).

  • Thank You for being slow to anger toward me (Ex. 34:6).

  • Thank You for giving me the victory (Deut. 20:4).

  • Thank You for the awesome things You have already done for me (Deut. 10:21).

  • Thank You for helping me! I can do difficult and even impossible things because of You (2 Sam. 22:30).

  • Thank You for teaching me everything I need to know and reminding me of the beautiful things You’ve said in the past (John 14:26).

  • Thank You for Jesus. He has made me holy (Col. 1:22).

It’s so easy to focus on what we lack, but when our eyes are on Jesus, our view of life changes, and we realize the great HOPE that surrounds us. May you overflow with the hope of God this week, and may praise and thanksgiving constantly spring up inside you.
