Declaring God’s Promise over Your Future Marriage
Did you read our interview with Brooke last week?
She told a remarkable story of how she met and fell in love with her husband, Kevin—a man she’d never considered being with!
But she knew what God had told her about her future husband, and she took His words seriously. She didn’t pass them off as “just her imagination” or doubt what He had told her—and He gave her more than she thought possible.

What promise has the Lord given you? Don’t be afraid to carefully hold on to it and trust He’ll bring it about at the right time.
Read the following statements out loud, declaring them over your life and the good future God has for you:
DECLARATION 1: Father, You are known as the faithful God. In fact, You are more faithful than I understand right now, and I will see You be faithful over and over again in my life. Here’s the promise You made me, and I trust You to bring this promise about: ____________.
You who call on the Lord,
give yourselves no rest,
and give him no rest till he establishes Jerusalem
and makes her the praise of the earth. (Isa. 62:6–7 NIV)
Why do we need to “remind” God of something He said? Why does the Bible say to “give him no rest”?
We don’t do this because He’s somehow forgotten or because we have to force Him to move His hand. But when we remind Him, we are inviting Him to come and do what He said He would do. We are working in agreement with Him and essentially asking for His will to be done on earth as it is in Heaven (Ez. 22:30; Matt. 6:10).
DECLARATION 2: Father God, I give You any fear or anxious thoughts I’m struggling with concerning the promise You’ve made me. I acknowledge that I don’t have to worry about this promise, when it will happen, or how it will happen. All I need to do is keep my eyes on You and listen to Your voice as You faithfully lead me.
Then I will say to my soul,
“Don’t be discouraged; don’t be disturbed,
for I fully expect my Savior-God to break through for me.
Then I’ll have plenty of reasons to praise him all over again.”
Yes, living before his face is my saving grace! (Ps. 43:5 TPT)
The human heart can easily get caught up in emotions that aren’t godly: fear, discouragement, anxiety, worry, depression, etc. These things don’t originate in Jesus, which means we don’t have to give them room inside us. We don’t need to listen to them at all.
Whenever you feel discouraged or downcast about the promise He’s made you, lift your eyes to Jesus and remind yourself of who He is, what He’s told you, and how He describes you in Scripture. The next time fear tries to take you captive, turn to God in worship instead.
DECLARATION 3: Father, Your Word says you delight in me, and I believe You. I am the delight of Your heart, and You’re a safe place for me.
So don’t worry about these things, saying, “What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?” These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. (Matt. 6:31–33 NLT)
The world tries to rub out our connection with God. To the best of its ability, it tries to separate us from Him.
But the simple truth of the matter is that we’re His delight. He treasures us and always seeks the best for us. So there is never any need to worry that maybe He will forget His promise or fail to see how important something is to our hearts. We don’t ever have to accept or “pick up” the fear that He will turn His back on us or give us something terrible when we ask Him for something good.
Now is the time to remember the promise God has made you about your future and take it seriously. God is doing something special on the earth right now, and we can rejoice as we declare with boldness, “Yes, God! YES!”
Here’s our prayer for you this week:
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the person reading this right now. You know what You have declared over them and the special, love-filled promises You’ve given them. We say, “Yes and amen,” to Your plans. Whatever Jesus is praying for this reader, we agree with it and look forward to hearing the stories of how You moved in their life!

Before you go!
In his book Emotions, Rick Sizemore writes something simple about peace and trusting in the Lord:
If I lose my peace, my heart and mind are being distracted from the Lord: “The steadfast of mind You will keep in perfect peace, because he trusts in You” (Isaiah 26:3).
That’s it. When we lose our peace, that’s why—we’ve taken our eyes off of Jesus.
Do you feel peaceful when you think about getting married one day, or do your emotions try to tell you, “Oh, it will never happen”? Is it easier for you to believe bad things or good things about your future?
Don’t be afraid to take God at His word! He can be trusted, and you are His delight.
