8 Ways to Show Love to Jesus

The most important thing we have in life is God. He is the beautiful, special Key that opens the entire world to us.

Learning how to put God first isn’t always easy, but as we see His goodness and that we need Him to come first, we realize we don’t have to self-protect. We don’t have to guard ourselves or our hopes and dreams, but we find these things as we seek Him.

But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also. (Matt. 6:33 AMP)

Everything we are begins inside the love of Jesus. He is before everything, and He holds everything together (Col. 1:15–17).

Showing Your Love to Jesus

Do you want to show Jesus your love for Him, but you aren’t sure how? Does it seem kind of daunting to your heart because He is God?

Here are eight simple ways you can show Him your love. Look through this list, and see which idea connects with your heart the most. Remember, it’s okay if you aren’t perfect with these things, and it is also okay if you want to “experiment” and try them out. Keep your spiritual ears open to the Holy Spirit’s leading—and let your heart speak love to Jesus.

1.  Go on a walk with Jesus. Bring Him the topics and ideas that confuse you. Ask your questions and look for His answers (Luke 24:13–27).

2.  Sit quietly in His presence, thinking about Him (Ps. 27:4).

3.  Choose a psalm, and turn it into a prayer. “This is what You are like. This is how I feel about You” (see Ps. 40:5).

4.  Forgive yourself for past mistakes or things you feel embarrassed about. If you have repented for those things, they are completely covered. He loves you, and He wants you to love yourself (Acts 10:15).

5.  Spend time with a godly mentor, and ask them questions about Jesus (Deut. 6:6–7).

6.  Ask Jesus to show you things you do not know (Jer. 33:3).

7.  Tell Him how much He means to you. It is okay to use simple words and childlike ideas (Matt. 16:15–16; 19:14).

8.  Honor Him by believing He means what He says, both in His Word and in your personal life (John 6:29).

More Than You Know!

Don’t allow fear to play with your head or tell you lies, because Jesus is delighted with you and your displays of affection. Even small acts of worship are big deals to Him.

You are so very precious to His heart! He loves you more than you know—far beyond what your emotions or mind can explain.
