Get Ready for God’s Abundance
God’s ways are not the ways of the world. His ways look like abundant life (John 10:10), and He wants His children to live in His abundance.
They feast on the abundance of your house;
you give them drink from your river of delights. (Ps. 36:8 NIV)
That is how God wants YOU to live. You get to fill yourself up with the abundance of His house, not the “house” of the world.
If you feel like you don’t have the abundance of His house, here are two truths to consider. Really think about these things, and meditate on these Scriptures.
1. God wants to take care of you in truly miraculous ways.
I have led you forty years in the wilderness. Your clothes have not worn out on you, and your sandals have not worn off your feet. (Deut. 29:5 ESV)
God deals in the miraculous—all the time. He can even keep people’s shoes and clothes from falling apart. Is there an area of your life where you are expecting something to wear out, break down, get old, or fall apart—but God is saying, “No, I want this thing to last”? Are you expecting something bad, but He wants to do something good?
Go to a quiet place by yourself, and talk to the Holy Spirit. Ask Him that question: “Am I expecting something bad, but You want to give me a good thing?”
2. God’s wisdom makes you wiser than the world. His wisdom is not restricted by the world’s rules and laws.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. (Prov. 9:10 NIV)
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. (Jas. 1:5 ESV)
Yes, I have more insight than my teachers,
for I am always thinking of your laws. (Ps. 119:99 NLT)
Do you EXPECT the wisdom of God to be a part of your everyday life? Or do you expect your dreams and hopes to not work out?
Do you expect to experience wisdom’s outcome? Do you ask God for wisdom even for simple, basic things?
Do you expect to see the abundance of His house—in your dating life, in your marriage, in your job?
Talk to the Holy Spirit, and ask Him those questions. Write down whatever He shows you.
Beloved child of God, get ready to see the Lord’s abundance!
He loves you, and He is GOOD, and He has beautiful, extravagant plans for your life—all the abundance of His house.
