You’re Going to See His Goodness
Are you waiting on the Lord to answer one of your prayers? Don’t be afraid. He will do what He said. You’re going to see His goodness.
Waiting for God to answer you is a perfectly normal thing. Having to wait is not a sign that you made a mistake, that you messed up somehow, or that you’re doing something wrong. The enemy will try to tell you negative things about yourself, about your hopes and prayers, and about the Lord, and it is up to you to say “no” and keep believing.
The book of Psalms is one of the most emotional books in the Bible, and it has a lot to say about God and waiting:
Wait for the Lord;
be strong, and let your heart take courage;
wait for the Lord! (Ps. 27:14 ESV)
Those who wait with hope for Yahweh will inherit the land. (Ps. 37:9 NOG)
For God alone my soul waits in silence and quietly submits to Him,
For my hope is from Him. (Ps. 62:5 AMP)
What are YOU asking the Lord for?
What are you waiting for?
You are going to see His goodness in that thing, whatever it happens to be.
The Goodness of God Is Coming
Ask and you’ll receive. Seek and you’ll discover. Knock on heaven’s door, and it will one day open for you. Every persistent person will receive what he asks for. Every persistent seeker will discover what he needs. And everyone who knocks persistently will one day find an open door. (Luke 11:9–10 TPT)
Whatever God has put on your heart, keep asking for that thing and don’t give up. If He has told you something about your future, then He wants to give you that thing.
Has God spoken to you about your future marriage? What did He say? Did He give you a verse from Scripture? Hold on to what He said, and don’t let it go.
Has the Lord said anything about your husband/wife and what they will be like? Has He given you “hints” about what the two of you will do for His kingdom? Write down His words and treasure them.
Has He encouraged you to go after something—a degree, a promotion, a mission trip in a foreign nation? Believe what He told you, and get ready to see Him work! Listen to the Holy Spirit, and do what He leads you to do.
Waiting happens in God’s kingdom. He has His own timetable and His own way of doing things, and there is no limit to His goodness (Ps. 119:96).
He Will Do What He Said
And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him. (1 John 5:14–15 ESV)
When you ask God for what He has put on your heart, you are asking “according to His will,” and the Bible is clear that He will do what He said. You will have the request you asked of Him.
