He Cares About Your Dreams
God is the One who created us, and He wants only good things for us and our dating life.
If you feel that isn’t true, then you have found a place where your mind needs to be renewed (Rom. 12:2). The Bible is very clear about your heavenly Father’s heart and intentions toward you.
Here are just a few places that talk about His love and affection for His kids:
He has good plans and purposes for you (Jer. 29:11).
He is so happy you exist (Zeph. 3:17).
He has more for you than you can imagine (Eph. 3:20–21).
He is the God of more than enough (Matt. 14:20).
Because all those things are true, you get to relax with Him and set your dream of marriage in His faithful hands. Dreams weigh a million pounds when you’re trying to carry them yourself, but when He carries your dream for you, you will be able to step into a new realm—one that is peaceful and light and full of joy, even while you are waiting for the promises of God to come about.
The Lord is so faithful with everyone who waits for Him.
He Cares About Your Dreams
Here’s what I’ve learned through it all: Don’t give up; don’t be impatient; be entwined as one with the Lord. Be brave and courageous, and never lose hope. Yes, keep on waiting—for he will never disappoint you! (Ps. 27:14 TPT)
While you are waiting for the good things God has promised you, practice listening to His still, small voice. Don’t pay attention to any fear that says, “This dream will never happen. My marriage isn’t important to God. He doesn’t care.”
Those are lies. If a dream is in your heart, that dream is dear to Him.
Fear and Anxiety Aren’t from God
God has not assigned anxiety and fear to you. This means that whenever you feel anxious about the future, you are experiencing an emotion God has not given to you. If it isn’t from Him, you don’t have to put up with it.
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. (2 Tim. 1:7 NKJV)
You were made for the power, love, and sound thinking of God. Those things are your portion or gift from Him, because you are His beloved child.
So, while you are waiting for Him to bring your spouse, you get to tell fear, “You are not from God. You have to go.”
You get to tell fear to leave your dating life—because God has good things for you.
You get to tell fear to leave your mind and the way you process information.
You get to tell fear to leave your home, because fear doesn’t belong there.
You get to tell fear to leave your body. Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, not the temple of fear.
This week, practice resting in God and letting Him carry the burden of your future. He is good, and He has good plans for you, and you can trust Him with all your heart.
