The Kindness of God When Your Heart Is Weary

Is your heart weary?

Are you struggling with fear because certain things in your life are outside your control?

Are you waiting for God to step in and save you, but it hasn’t happened yet?

Do you just need help??

No matter what you’re experiencing today, good or bad, your heart needs the kindness of God. Especially when you’re feeling unlovely and broken, His kindness is the soft and tender answer that will restore your joy.

What follows is one small glimpse of the kindness of God.

Read these statements out loud as declarations. When you speak out loud what the Bible says, you are speaking the words of absolute, unchangeable life and truth. Speaking out God’s truth will help you believe His truth even more, and His truth will always set your heart free.

5.  He does not forget the promises He’s made to me (Josh. 21:45).

6.  He has compassion on His kids who are weary and worn down (Matt. 11:28).

7.  He doesn’t do anything except love (1 John 4:8).

8.  He has time for me and the things I struggle with, and He is helping me learn and grow (Hos. 11:3).

9.  He takes care of me and faithfully gives me what I need (Ps. 37:25; 145:16).

10. He separates me from the things that cause me shame (Ps. 103:12).

11. He helps me and keeps my soul alive (Ps. 54:4).

12. His kindness toward me is precious (Ps. 36:7).

13. He is kind toward me when I’m under attack (Ps. 31:21).

14. His kindness is better than anything else I have (Ps. 63:3).

15. The kindness of God draws me closer to Him (Rom. 2:4).

This Week’s Activity

Does your heart need to remember God’s kindness?

Take one of the thoughts listed above and meditate on it. Read the Scripture(s) associated with it, and listen to what the Holy Spirit says to you. Practice being quiet in His presence, just listening to Him. Then write down what He says and treasure His words.

Your heavenly Father loves you more than you realize! Check out these other devotions:
