His Love Brings Healing

Do you hesitate to approach the Lord because, deep in your heart, you feel like He has better things to do than deal with you and your stuff?
All of us have stuff! And all of us need a clearer picture of our loving heavenly Father—who He is, how He thinks, what He does, and how He loves us. As we begin to see Him more clearly, we realize we cannot escape His incredible love, and THAT is when our healing really takes off.
“Oh my goodness. I am safe with You.”
“You really do love me.”
“You are holding me and bringing me life.”
God our Father doesn’t look at us and say, “If only you were better.” Or “I can’t believe you have this many problems.” Just like the Bible says, there is no condemnation toward us whatsoever (Rom. 8:1). Instead, He is filled with an ocean of compassion that never stops and has no shallow places.
Seeing God more clearly allows us to—at last—find the healing we need.
He is love, He is love, He is love.
This month at Becoming the One, we’re talking about gratitude, compassion, and emotional healing.
The healing of a person’s heart and mind is rooted in God’s love. It starts in His love and continues in His love. Everything of worth we could ever do or experience in this world comes out of the love God has for us. If we don’t know or believe His love, we are trying to live with a severe handicap. We can stumble our way through life, but we can’t live in the freedom He always intended for us.
We never grow out of our deep need to know the Father’s love.
To love people well—including ourselves and our husband or wife—we have to know the Father’s love for us. The only way the fullness of our destiny will come about is if we know His love.
We are healed as we encounter His love. His love leads us to the kind of gratitude that laughs uproariously with joy.
Can you feel God’s love as you read this?
Does your heart know—is it convinced—you are His precious child?
You are God’s children. That is why God sent the Spirit of his Son into your hearts. The Spirit cries out, “Father, dear Father.” (Gal. 4:6 ICB)
His love isn’t the distant, cantankerous thing many of us make it out to be—but it is something close by and precious, and we can touch it and live inside it all our days.
