How to Survive Waiting for Your Marriage

Do you want to get married, but God is asking you to wait?
Is the wait driving you crazy?!
To survive long waits, we need to know God’s heart and character, how He thinks, and if He is really trustworthy. Otherwise, we could find ourselves struggling against doubt and a swarm of what-if questions, constantly wondering if God will do what He said.
This week, let’s look at a few of the beautiful, awe-filled ways the Bible describes our heavenly Father. Let’s boldly declare who He is!
But first, here’s a key concerning declarations and your marriage…
Whenever you declare who God is or what He said He would do, remember those declarations don’t rely on your strength, your emotions, or even the level of your faith in the moment.
You are speaking the truth of God. Declaring who He is or what He has said has the power not just to change your life but also to change the world around you the same way light changes darkness. You are speaking words of pure light, and—astonishingly, beautifully—they don’t rely on you! They are fueled by His power, which means they are strong.
He will keep His word to you. He will do exactly what He said.
Regarding your future marriage…
He who promised is faithful (Heb. 10:23).
He will fulfill every promise He made you (Josh. 23:14).
You live within the shelter of who He is. His faithfulness is all around you (Ps. 91:1; 89:8).
He has begun a good work in you with your desire for marriage, and He will be faithful to complete it (Phil. 1:6).
He is good, He is good, He is good (Ps. 100:5).
There is no limit to His perfect goodness in your life (Ps. 119:96).
He wants to give you the desires of your heart (Ps. 37:4).
He gives wonderful gifts (James 1:17).
He is the God of good stories with pleasant endings (Jer. 29:11).
Everything He has is yours (Luke 15:31).
He is willing and able to do what the world says is impossible (Matt. 8:3).
His banner over you is love (Song 2:4).
Read that list every day this week, and whenever your heart becomes afraid or starts doubting the good plans God has for you, read the list again. This is who God is for you! He is good, and He loves you more than you think! He is a Gift-giver, and He has amazing things for you.
Deep in your heart, do you have trouble believing the Lord has good things for you?
