Using God's Word in Practical Ways

Greetings from Becoming the One!
Dear Becoming the One family,
This month at Becoming the One, we’re talking about God’s Word and how to use it in practical ways. All of us need His Word. It is our anchor when the world is shaking. It cuts through confusion and shows us what is real. His Word is full of mystery, but the Holy Spirit is constantly available to lead us into truth.
Many Christians are familiar with God’s Word, but they don’t necessarily know how to apply it. For them, it is separate from everyday life.
But that doesn’t have to be the case. When we realize the practicality of the Bible—that our loving heavenly Father has amazing things to say about every aspect of our lives, even very simple fears and concerns—everything changes!
Here’s an example of what it can look like to use God’s Word in a practical way.
Let’s say you want to meet the right person and get married, but you’ve been waiting a long time, and you’re starting to lose hope. Maybe you’re asking yourself, “Does God really care about my future marriage?”
Yes, God cares about your marriage, and we know this because of His Word.
The Bible begins with the Lord bringing a husband and wife together, and it ends with the wedding of His Son. Marriage is very dear to God’s heart. He delights in seeing couples come together!
He even says in Proverbs 18:22, “He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the Lord” (NIV).
When God is at the center of your life, His Word gets to be your foundation.
His Word is the fresh, clean wind of the Holy Spirit as He leads you ever deeper into God’s heart. As you spend time with Him in His Word, you will grow in divine wisdom, and in any area where you feel incompetent, He will make you wise (Ps. 19:7).
The Bible has everything we need for dating and marriage. Let’s journey deeper into God’s Word this month and find refreshment for our souls!
In His love,
