As You Wait, Remember His Heart

Alexiz Mora

Are you waiting on God?

Does the wait seem never ending?

Whenever we are going through a long season of waiting, remembering our Father’s heart is super important. ❤️

His heart looks like His faithfulness. We can know, without doubt, that He will do what He promised, because that’s who He is. The faithfulness of His heart brings unfathomable peace.

The Lord always keeps his promises;
    he is gracious in all he does. (Ps. 145:13 NLT)

His heart will take us places beyond our imagination:

May you be able to feel and understand, as all God’s children should, how long, how wide, how deep, and how high his love really is; and to experience this love for yourselves, though it is so great that you will never see the end of it or fully know or understand it. And so at last you will be filled up with God himself. Now glory be to God, who by his mighty power at work within us is able to do far more than we would ever dare to ask or even dream of—infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, or hopes. (Eph. 3:18–20 TLB)

His heart is planning good things for us:

“Yes indeed, it won’t be long now.” GOD’s Decree. “Things are going to happen so fast your head will swim, one thing fast on the heels of the other. You won’t be able to keep up. Everything will be happening at once—and everywhere you look, blessings! Blessings like wine pouring off the mountains and hills. I’ll make everything right again for my people Israel.” (Amos 9:13 MSG)

This month at Becoming the One, we’re talking about a culture of love. The love of our heavenly Father makes everything right. The pressure to do things perfectly, or to make things happen more quickly, fades away in the light of His love. We realize it’s okay if things take longer than we expected—because He is faithful and He always keeps His word.

As we ground ourselves in our Father’s heart, we are refreshed over time, not exhausted. Even the things that should make us tired don’t:

But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength.
    They will soar high on wings like eagles.
They will run and not grow weary.
    They will walk and not faint. (Isa. 40:31 NLT)

In the wait, we need to remember our Father’s heart for us. ❤️

What He promised will certainly come—we don’t have to worry about that. But as we wait for Him to do what He said, we can dive deeper into His love and discover the contentment found in Him.
