Being vulnerable with your heavenly Father is always healing.

It seems scary, it can feel uncomfortable—but choosing to trust your Father with the tender, aching places of your heart reveals His goodness in a way nothing else can.

No one who comes to Him will ever be turned away:

The one who comes to Me I certainly will not cast out. (John 6:37 NASB)

Everyone who comes to Him will find rest:

Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. (Matt. 11:28 NLT)

Everyone who comes to Him will get the help they need:

Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. (Heb. 4:16 NIV)

And everyone who comes to Him will experience His mercy, not condemnation:

Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?”

“No one, sir,” she said.

“Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.” (John 8:10–11 NIV)

The Pharisees wanted to stone this woman for her sin, but when Jesus saw her at her absolute worst, how did He respond?

With mocking? No. Did He make things worse? No. He acted with compassion.

He addressed the issue: “Go now and sin no more.” But her vulnerability in this moment—even though it was not what she chose for herself—still produced awe and wonder for her. She expected condemnation, and instead she experienced the heart of the King.

Jesus was kind to people who didn’t deserve it—over and over again. He was kind because that is what He saw His Father doing (John 5:19).

So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. (Rom. 8:1 NLT)

This month at Becoming the One, we’re talking about being vulnerable. Choosing to be vulnerable with your heavenly Father will always leave you better off than you were before.

According to the Bible, this is how He sees you:

He has brought you into his own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault. (Col. 1:22 NLT)

If Jesus is your Savior, then Colossians 1:22 is how He describes YOU. Beloved child of God, don’t be afraid to stand before your heavenly Father and ask for His help. He has exactly what you need—not just to survive but to flourish, without shame.
