Don’t Be Afraid to Go to Jesus for Healing!

Do you realize how safe you are with Jesus?
He is the One who did not condemn the woman caught in adultery (John 8:11).
He is the One who comforts the brokenhearted (Isa. 61:1).
He is the One who does not break “bruised reeds” or people who have been so wounded, so hurt by life, that they feel just gutted. He does not “snuff out” those whose light is barely visible anymore. Instead, He is faithful to them.
A bruised reed he will not break,
and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out.
In faithfulness he will bring forth justice (Isa. 42:3 NIV)
If that is where you are today—if the ache in your chest feels bigger than your light—don’t be afraid to run to Jesus. He will not turn you away. He has a long, long history of comforting the hurting. You are safe with Him.
Nothing can separate you from His love (Rom. 8:38–39).
He is why you will never be condemned (Rom. 8:1).
He is actively praying for you. He is fighting for your victory in this battle:
He is able to save fully from now throughout eternity, everyone who comes to God through him, because he lives to pray continually for them. (Heb. 7:25 TPT)
This month at Becoming the One, we’re talking about a culture of joy. For a lot of people, true joy feels so very far away. Pain does its best to make us think that joy is an impossibility for us—but that is not true.
When we feel broken, we need three important things:
To experience God’s love for ourselves
To let Him heal us
To become who we really are
Jesus is good with wounded hearts! He knows exactly what those hearts need.
If your heart needs healing, don’t be afraid to take the wounded place to Jesus. He is the Healer. He wants to heal you, and He will be gentle with every part that is sore and anxious within you.
Here is a simple activity if you need healing.
He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted
and to proclaim that captives will be released
and prisoners will be freed. (Isa. 61:1 NLT)
1. Go to a quiet spot where you can be alone. Take your journal and read Isaiah 61 slowly, giving the Holy Spirit time to speak to your heart.
2. Invite Jesus into your pain. You may want to pray a simple prayer like this: “Jesus, please come into this pain.” Expect Him to answer your prayer—because that is what He does.
I am overwhelmed with joy in the Lord my God!
For he has dressed me with the clothing of salvation
and draped me in a robe of righteousness. (Isa. 61:10 NLT)
Deep healing begins as we encounter Jesus and start to realize what He says about us.
Not who the world says we are.
Not even who we THINK we are.
But who JESUS says we are.
