God Is DELIGHTED with You!

Do you know how pleased God is with you? 

So many of His precious children don’t understand His delight and the huge pleasure He takes in them. They focus on their failures and shortcomings and don’t realize they mean joy to Him.

When the Bible says God loved the world so much that sacrificing Himself seemed reasonable—that is a description of His heart. That is how He feels about you. It is how He feels about the people around you.

His heart is filled with joy because you exist. 

This month at Becoming the One, we are talking about a culture of joy, and one vital aspect of this culture is knowing the Father’s joy—that He has joy because of you. Joy is more than our response to God. It is also His response to us. We love because of His love, and we can delight in Him because He first delights in us. 

The following verses focus on God’s joy over you. These verses are especially important on the days when you feel like garbage, or like you don’t matter, or like you keep messing up. God is so pleased with you. That is the reaction of His heart when He thinks about you.

Every day these verses describe God’s heart toward you: 

The Lord your God is with you;
    the mighty One will save you.
He will rejoice over you.
    You will rest in his love;
    he will sing and be joyful about you. (Zeph. 3:17 NCV)

For Jehovah enjoys his people; he will save the humble. Let his people rejoice in this honor. Let them sing for joy as they lie upon their beds. (Ps. 149:4–5 TLB)

You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness;
Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You
With the oil of gladness more than Your companions. (Heb. 1:9 NKJV)

You will make known to me the way of life;
In Your presence is fullness of joy;
In Your right hand there are pleasures forever. (Ps. 16:11 NASB) 

I have told you this so that you will be as joyful as I am, and your joy will be complete. (John 15:11 NOG)

He brought me out to a spacious place;
    he delivered me, for in me he takes delight. (Ps. 18:19 ISV)

He is good to everyone, and his compassion is intertwined with everything he does. (Ps. 145:9 TLB)

And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. (Gen. 1:31 ESV)

God is pleased with you! May your heart encounter His pleasure at a deeper level.
