God Is Pleased with Who You Are!

You are God’s precious child, and He created you in a way that fills Him with joy.
God the Father sees you the same way He sees Jesus. When the Father looks at you, He sees what Jesus did for you on the cross. He sees His own righteousness in you. He sees His light in you. That is who you really are!
You are not what shame says.
You are not what your fears say.
You are not what doubt says.
You are what GOD says.
This month at Becoming the One, we’re talking about who you really are. Not what other people think about you, but what God thinks about you.
The Holy Spirit helps us understand who we are in two main ways.
The first way is through His Word. We read the Bible, meditate on His words, allow them to sink down inside us, and ask Him to tell us what He wants us to know, so we can believe and treasure what He says about us. (We’ll talk about the second way the Holy Spirit helps us understand our identity next week!)
Words from Scripture can be powerful declarations that transform you and your day. Read the following Bible-based declarations over yourself every morning this week, and pay attention to how the Holy Spirit leads your heart. What begins to shift in your thinking as you make these declarations? Remember, He is absolutely delighted with you, and there is no shadow of condemnation within Him.
God is pleased with who I am (Ps. 139:14).
I am flawless in His sight (Songs 4:7).
I am holy unto the Lord (1 Cor. 1:2).
I am holy because of Jesus, not because of anything I’ve done (Eph. 2:8–9).
I carry God’s seal of ownership. There is no question about who I belong to (2 Cor. 1:21–22).
I am a man/woman of great faith (2 Cor. 5:7).
I have no fear of the future, because all of God’s plans for me are good and full of hope (Jer. 29:11).
I love my Father’s voice (Matt. 4:4).
I treasure the things of God (Luke 2:19).
I am like my Father (1 John 3:1).
I am loving the way my Father is loving (Gal. 5:22–23).
I am patient the way my Father is patient (Gal. 5:22–23).
I am kind the way my Father is kind (Gal. 5:22–23).
I am filled with joy the way my Father is filled with joy (Gal. 5:22–23).
I love and think well (2 Tim. 1:7).
God is PLEASED with how He created you. You get to lay aside bad habits and shame, and embrace your best qualities instead. “This is who God says I am!”
You get to believe what God says about you! And what He says is glorious.
