God Wants to Give You the Desires of Your Heart!
Many of you reading this have a specific desire that is “heavy” within you. You deeply want to see God fulfill this desire, but you are still waiting for Him to move.
Maybe you’ve been single for years and are starting to lose hope for the future.
Maybe you and your spouse are trying to have a baby, and it hasn’t happened yet.
Or maybe you want to take good care of your family, but right now you’re barely making ends meet, and nothing you try seems to work.
Maybe you’re asking some painful questions:
“What about this desire of my heart? God has fulfilled other people’s desires—but is He going to fulfill mine? What if He doesn’t? How do I know my desires matter to Him? How do I know I matter to Him?”
This month at Becoming the One, we’re talking about encountering God’s love.
If you’re wondering if your desires matter to Him, your heart needs to remember His love. ❤️
Consider the following statements in light of your heart’s longing:
God loves being called your Father (Jer. 3:19). Does that sound like someone who doesn’t care about the desires of your heart?
You are precious in His sight (Isa. 43:4). All of you, your whole being, is precious. This includes your desires because they are a part of how He made you.
He has only good plans for you (Jer. 29:11). So many believers in Jesus expect His goodness to not come through for them, but that isn’t what the Bible says. He has plans to prosper you in life and to give you hope and a future.
You are flawless in His sight (Songs 4:7). Don’t allow the enemy to convince you you’re broken or damaged, and therefore God doesn’t care about your dreams. That is a lie.
He is so very pleased with you (Ps. 37:23). You make Him happy! He loves being with you, and He loves all your details, including the desires He put inside you.
Your heart is precious to Him (Prov. 4:23). It is not a burden—it is a delight.
One day you will look back and see how He fulfilled every promise He made you (Josh. 23:14).
He perfects that which concerns you (Ps. 138:8). This includes the “desire seeds” He planted in you. He will cause them to grow and bear fruit.
When God speaks and gives you a promise, it’s a BIG deal. It is not some light, feathery thing easily defeated, but it burns like fire and smashes rocks to pieces (Jer. 23:29).
When He gives you a dream, He fulfills it (Gen. 37:7–9; 42:6).
The promise will happen at the right time (Gen. 18:14).
At Becoming the One, we believe that if God put a desire in your heart, it’s because He means to fulfill it. He knows you have been waiting. The waiting is not the end! Don’t be afraid to keep trusting Him with your desire. When the time is right, He will make it happen if you don’t give up.
