Praying with Confidence
This month at Becoming the One, we’re talking about a culture of prayer—talking with God, knowing you are loved.
Here are just a few reasons you can pray with confidence.
You Are So Loved!
God the Father constantly, all the time, welcomes you into His presence to receive exactly what you need (Heb. 4:16).
God the Father loves you the same way He loves Jesus (John 17:23). How shocking is that?! How beautiful is that? None of us should ever feel like we don’t matter or that we aren’t good enough for God, because our Father loves us the way He loves Jesus.
He is so very pleased with you (Ps. 147:11). More than you know.
He bends down to listen to you (Ps. 116:2). He is like a dad who pauses his work to give his full attention to the little child who wants to be with him.
The desires of your heart matter to your Father (Ps. 37:4; Prov. 4:23).
He wants you to ask Him for all kinds of things (Eph. 6:18).
He loves it when you talk to Him and call Him Father (Jer. 3:19).
He does not feel negative or bear ill will toward you. He thinks good thoughts about you (Jer. 29:11).
God’s will for you is good, pleasing, and perfect (Rom. 12:2).
You are holy in His sight because of Jesus (Eph. 1:4).
God doesn’t look at you and see all your mistakes and the ways you feel you’ve failed. He has separated you from your sins (Ps. 103:12; Rom. 7:20).
Your tears matter to the Lord (Ps. 56:8). What moves your heart to the point of tears? What is so important to you that the thought of it makes you cry? The One who treasures your tears is listening to your prayers.
You are seated with Jesus in heavenly places (Eph. 2:6). Hold that truth in your heart as you pray. Jesus is not far away from you, no matter how it might feel. He is close enough to hear your whispers.
You are holy and blameless before your Father (Col. 1:22).
Keep Praying! He Hears You
Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. (1 Thes. 5:16–18 ESV)
Your words matter to the Lord more than you know. Don’t be afraid to bring Him your questions, concerns, desires, and needs in prayer. And rejoice! Because He is good, and He loves you, and He has a treasury of good things waiting for you. You are safe with Him, and He loves the sound of your voice. ❤️
