Choosing peace is a way we worship the Lord when the enemy is doing his best to confuse and conquer us. Instead of getting swept up in all the drama, we focus on God, remember what He’s told us, and choose not to listen to fear or “what if” questions.

To help you keep your peace in this season, here are a few simple reminders of who God is and what He’s like. Read the following points out loud as declarations over your life, and spend time with the Lord, allowing Him to comfort your heart.

Declarations of Faith and Hope

Declaration 1: I believe the words of God my Father more than I believe human reports. He is my hope, He is my trustworthy source, and He is my rock that does not change.

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. (Heb. 11:1 NIV)

For we live by faith, not by sight. (2 Cor. 5:7 NIV)

Pray and invite God closer: Father, I choose to trust You in this storm. I don’t know exactly what to do or what’s going to happen, but all my hope is in You. Please come and be with me beyond my expectations. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.

Declaration 2: I trust in the Lord. He is my joy, my peace, and my hope in this stormy time. I am not living in fear with my head buried in the sand—I am walking confidently with my Savior, and I know my confidence in Him will not be disappointed.

I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. (Rom. 15:13 NLT)

Pray and invite God closer: Father, I open my heart to You as my hope. The world says I don’t have much hope right now, but I choose to believe what You are saying instead. You are my hope and all my peace, and I place my trust in You wholeheartedly. This situation will turn out exactly the way You have said. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.

Declaration 3: I believe God and what He is speaking over my life, my situation, and my future. His words are a breath of fresh air to my heart. In everything I do and in all my thoughts, I choose Jesus. He is my Lord, and I trust Him.

For with the heart a person believes [in Christ as Savior] resulting in his justification [that is, being made righteous—being freed of the guilt of sin and made acceptable to God]; and with the mouth he acknowledges and confesses [his faith openly], resulting in and confirming [his] salvation. (Rom. 10:10 AMP)

Pray and invite God closer: Father, I invite You to come closer to me. That is what I want in my life and in my heart—to have You closer than before. Please help me to see You and to hear Your voice. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.

Declaration 4: The Lord is my Light in every storm. Fear and shadows are not my inheritance. I choose to walk with God in this season, and I declare that the light of Jesus is greater than any storm’s power.

Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of the world; the one who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.” (John 8:12 NASB)

Pray and invite God closer: Father, You are my light and the way I see everything around me. I put my hope in You, and I choose to believe all Your words. I say “no” to the voice of darkness and “yes” to the voice of the Lord. Please increase my discernment so I can tell right away what is You and what is not You. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.

He’s Your Peace in Storms

Doug Addison recently wrote the following:

The Lord is going to bring about some surprising changes starting this month that will unfold over the months to come.

He has not forgotten you and is now moving behind the scenes to bring things into place for a breakthrough in the midst of the storm. The key to this is to stay at peace and trust.

Watch for the Lord to answer prayers and bring breakthroughs.

He has been sustaining you, but now you are going to get an infusion of hope, strength, peace and power! Ministering angels are being released to help people get a new wind of the Spirit!

The Lord is saying, "Do not be afraid and be at peace."

The peace of God is more than we think. It isn’t just a good feeling, and it’s much more than simply being able to catch our breath in crazy or painful moments. Let’s trust the Lord together—and then watch as He moves on our behalf.
