Safe in His Hands: Trusting God with Your Dreams

Is it hard for you to set your dreams in God’s hands?
Are you afraid that if you truly make Him first in your life, ahead of your dreams, He will make you give them up?
Is it difficult to be vulnerable with Him where your dreams are concerned?
“What if He wants me to give up my dream of getting married and having a family?”
“But, God, I want this thing. It means so much to me. How do I know You will protect this desire?”
“How do I know my desire is safe with You?”
If these fears sound familiar, you’re among friends. Many of us struggle with trusting God with our dreams because we don’t realize the depths of His heart and how much He loves the desires He has given us.
He protects our desires even when we don’t.
If we are faithless,
he remains faithful,
for he cannot disown himself. (2 Tim. 2:13 NIV)
Oh, beloved child of God! If you could see the deep, churning ocean of His affection for you, you would know how safe your desires are with Him. You can trust Him with all your heart!
Do you want to get married?
Do you want children?
Do you have a dream in your heart that you haven’t told anyone because it’s too special?
What makes you come alive when you think about it?
What fills the deep places of your heart with utter joy?
Never be afraid to trust your desires to the Lord. Don’t be scared to be vulnerable with Him and put Him first in your life. He knows what you long for even more than you do. Your heart for God lays a road for your feet, and that road includes the desires He’s given you.
So above all, constantly seek God’s kingdom and his righteousness, then all these less important things will be given to you abundantly. (Matt. 6:33 TPT)
Trusting the Lord with your deepest desires is a huge act of vulnerability and faith…and it contains so much LIFE that we are changed forever. We come to know the Lord more, and we lose so much of our fear.
“Of course You have this good thing for me! Of course this desire in my heart is a delight to You. Of course I can trust You with this dream!”
Get ready to see His goodness!
