The Memory of His Love

Sometimes the love of God is something we have to remember. Not because it is far away or weak or changeable, but because we get distracted. There’s a whole lot going on this time of year—Christmas parties, family gatherings, special church services—and sometimes we just need to pause and remember what is really important.  

If you long to experience the love of the Lord at a deeper level, here are some wonderful things you can do to focus on His heart for you. 

Remember What He Has Already Done

One way you can help your heart re-experience God’s love is by thinking about the incredible things He has done for you in the past. This simple practice helps highlight His beauty in your life.  

“God, I needed to replace my car, and You helped me do it. That was five years ago, and that car is still running faithfully! Thank You for Your provision in my life.”

“Father, I was single for such a long time, and then You did exactly what You said, and You brought me the amazing person I am dating now. Thank You. I am seeing Your faithfulness.”

Remember What He Has Told You

Another beautiful thing you can do to soak your heart in God’s love is to remind yourself of His voice.

“You told me that such-and-such is going to happen. It hasn’t happened yet, but I believe You with all my heart. Thank You in advance for fulfilling Your promise.”

“You said You are helping me with my finances. I believe and trust You, and I know my financial situation is just about to improve, because You said it would.”

Remember His Word

You can also use your favorite Scriptures to help you “see” His heart for you.

“Lord, Your Word says You hear me when I call to You. That is who You are for me. You are the One who listens, and You have not forgotten me.” 

“Father, the Bible talks about Your great love, and I know it’s true. I am precious to You because I am Your child.”

“You are protecting me and keeping me safe. You are not far away from me, but You are right here helping me. That is what Your Word says.” 

His Love Is Truly Endless 

Beloved child of God, you are so precious to Your heavenly Father! Honestly, none of us really understands the depths of His delight over us. He is a very happy Father, and we are a big reason for His happiness.
