Why You Don’t Need to Be Afraid
When our hearts are shaking and we don’t know what to do, the most important decision we can make right then is to look at Jesus. That will keep our hearts filled with courage and our minds at peace, even when it seems like everything around us is falling apart (Ps. 46:1–2).
Jesus is the only One who knows what’s actually going on, and nothing can refute His understanding. Not the news. Not social media. Not what “seems right to a man” (Prov. 14:12).
Jesus is the Rock of our lives. He’s the One who doesn’t change or tremble. Not ever.
Read the following verses and do the prayer/journaling exercises. Listen closely to what the Lord tells you, and make sure to write down His words, so you can remember them in the future.
Strong and Courageous
Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you. (Deut. 31:6 ESV)
Ask the Lord what this verse means for you specifically, and write down anything you sense He says. Remember, His voice can come in many ways, and He always sounds like abundant life (John 10:10).
Prayer for Fearlessness: Jesus, please help me to remember in these times that I am not alone. You are with me, and You will not leave me, and You are helping me. Please fill my heart with strength and courage until I am able to do what You are doing today. I acknowledge that because of You, there is no reason for me to be afraid of this enemy.

Returning and Rest, Quietness and Trust
In returning and rest you shall be saved;
in quietness and in trust shall be your strength. (Isa. 30:15)
Think of something that is making you feel afraid. Perhaps it’s a personal thing, or maybe it’s something going on in your country. Ask the Lord how Isaiah 30:15 applies to that fear, and write down what He says.
Prayer for Trust: Father God, I put all my trust in You. I know that You are worthy of my trust and that I will get to see Your goodness in the very thing I’m afraid of. What the enemy means for evil, You can take and work out for my good, and that’s what I’m believing You for today. I know You’re going to do it. I am so happy to walk through life with You.

Letting the Lord Be Your Peace
You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. (Isa. 26:3)
When your thoughts are turned toward God, you will have peace. That’s how it works. He’s that good and He’s that powerful.
Where do you need peace today? Ask the Lord what He wants your heart to know, and write down what He says. He is real peace, and just the sound of His voice spreads peace.
Prayer for Peace: Jesus, I acknowledge that You are the Prince of Peace. That is what You are for the world around me, and it is also what You are for me, personally. You are my source for peace in all things. I choose to focus my mind and heart on You today.
