Declarations for Conquering Fear in Your Relationship

Your heart and your relationship are precious to the Lord—more than you think!

If he can, the enemy will try to create havoc and doubt inside you.

He might say, “The desires of your heart don’t matter to God. He’s going to force you to do what He wants, not what you want.”

“Your relationship is going to fail, because all your other relationships have failed.”

“This person is going to break up with you eventually, because you are unlovable.”

“You are not worthy of a good relationship.”

Whatever the enemy is telling you today—the Lord knows the truth, and He will share it with you as you go to Him and be still in His presence. The enemy will tell lies to make you afraid, but what you need is the truth of the Lord, which will comfort your heart.

Here are some Bible-based declarations specifically geared for conquering fear in your relationship. Remember, His Word has the power to bring healing (Ps. 107:20) and to overcome darkness (John 1:5).

“The Lord loves me even when I feel unworthy of His love. He sincerely treasures me—with all His heart, all the time. It is better for me to trust His love than to trust these feelings of unworthiness.”

Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you;
therefore he will rise up to show you compassion.
For the Lord is a God of justice.
Blessed are all who wait for him! (Isa. 30:18 NIV)

Pray about the following declarations, and see if the Lord highlights any of them to you. Several times over the next few days, return to these declarations and speak them out loud:

  • “The Lord has not rejected me. No, He longs to be gracious to me.”

  • “The Lord has not overlooked me because of my shortcomings. No, He eagerly shows me His compassion.”

  • “The Lord longs for me. He is excited about drawing close and comforting my heart.”

  • “As I wait for Him in the quiet place, I am blessed beyond measure.”

“I can trust the Lord with my relationship. He is with me to overturn all my fears.”

Trust in the Lord with all your heart
And do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He will make your paths straight. (Pr. 3:5–6 NASB)

Pray about the following truths. What is the Lord highlighting to you? What is the Holy Spirit breathing on?

  • “The Lord loves it when I acknowledge Him.”

  • “When I turn my thoughts to the Lord and listen for His leading, this means the world to Him.”

  • “I value His thoughts and His voice, and He is laying out a straight path for me that is clear of confusion and shame.”

  • “I am relying on the wisdom of the Lord for my relationship.”

  • “I get to think what the Lord is thinking about my relationship.”

“I don’t need to battle my fears by myself! The Lord is the Shepherd God, and He is very, very good at fighting off the wolves of fear that try to attack me.”

“As for you, My flock, the flock of My pasture, you are men, and I am your God,” says the Lord God. (Ez. 34:31 AMP)

For he is our God
and we are the people of his pasture,
the flock under his care. (Ps. 95:7 NIV)

Pray about the following truths. What stands out to your heart? Write down what you sense the Holy Spirit is saying to your spirit.

  • “Lord, You are the Shepherd God who sees me.”

  • “You recognize my fears even before I do, and You know what to do about them.”

  • “You do not tolerate the wolves that come after me.”

  • “You are protecting me even when I can’t see it or feel it. Eventually I will be able to do both.”

  • “The spirit of fear made a HUGE mistake when it went after me! Because I am not alone. The Shepherd God is right here to crush the wolves of fear.”
