MONDAY
Choose to Speak Life
Proverbs 15:30 (NIV)
Light in a messenger’s eyes brings joy to the heart,
and good news gives health to the bones.
It doesn’t take a lot of effort to brighten the hearts of the people you bump into during the course of your day. You can do it with just a kind word.
Our words carry the power to destroy life or to give life. We get to choose what we will use our words for.
As you go through your day today, remember that you have a powerful effect on other people as you speak words of good news—faith, positivity, blessing, and the life of Jesus.
Pray like this: Lord, thank You for the sound of Your voice in my life. Your words to me are always good news for my ears and my heart. I want to have an attitude that invites joy into my life and helps renew the strength of those around me. In the name of Jesus, amen.
May your Monday be blessed!
TUESDAY
Being Like Jesus
John 13:12–14
When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. “Do you understand what I have done for you?” he asked them. “You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am. Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet.”
Jesus lived a revolutionary lifestyle, and if we follow His ways, we will experience the blessing of God (John 13:17).
Even though He was God in the flesh, Jesus served the people around Him without a trace of pride or arrogance. We can serve with that same heart.
Jesus is full of grace toward us even when we make mistakes; He forgives all our sins—we can choose to forgive as well.
He illuminates our path, giving us mercy and showing us which way to go. We can take His light out into a dark world and show people what He looks like.
He lifts us up when we have no strength. We, too, can take the time to help those who have fallen.
God invites you to sow blessings into your life. And you may just be surprised by the size of the harvest!
Pray like this: Lord, thank You for Your example. I want to see others through Your eyes so I can love them the way You love me. In the name of Jesus, amen.
May your Tuesday be blessed!
WEDNESDAY
Spend Your Day with Jesus
Isaiah 55:6–7
Seek the Lord while he may be found;
call on him while he is near.
Let the wicked forsake their ways
and the unrighteous their thoughts.
Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them,
and to our God, for he will freely pardon.
At the beginning of your day, look for God.
When You start a task, ask Him to guide you.
Whatever you need to get done today, seek to do it with Him.
In those moments when it feels like you’re losing or like everything is going wrong, choose to set your focus on God, and don’t listen to the enemy’s voice. God knows exactly who you are and where you are, and He is right here to help you.
Pray like this: Lord, thank You for the opportunity to start my day with You, listening to Your love. I turn to You with all my heart. I’m looking for Your help, because I know I need You. You’re the One who makes everything go well. In the name of Jesus, amen.
May your Wednesday be blessed!
THURSDAY
Put All Your Hope in God
Psalm 91:1, 4, 7
Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty…
He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart…
A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
We often feel safe when we have money, a stable job, or a prosperous business, but in times of crisis when those things are at risk, we realize we put our trust in the wrong place.
Take the opportunity to turn and put your hope in God today instead of the world.
There are incredible benefits for you, your spouse, and your whole family when you make the Lord your refuge.
You can read all of Psalm 91 by clicking here.
Pray like this: Lord, I want to live in Your presence, under Your protection. I receive the extraordinary promises of this psalm, believing that You are going to take care of my life and my home. In the name of Jesus, amen.
May your Thursday be blessed!
FRIDAY
Choose to Trust God’s Faithful Love
Psalm 91:14–16
“Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him;
I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
He will call on me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver him and honor him.
With long life I will satisfy him
and show him my salvation.”
God doesn’t promise that our lives will be easy and free of problems, but He does promise to help us, protect us, answer us, and stay by our side. He teaches us to trust Him and not our strengths or abilities.
If you’re struggling with an issue in your dating or married life, with your family, or in some other arena, choose to put that issue in the hands of the Lord instead of trying to work it out by yourself. God loves you and He wants to help you. Choose to trust His faithful love.
Pray like this: Father God, I come before You and ask for Your help, protection, and direction. Help me believe You mean what You say in Your Word. In the name of Jesus, amen.
May your Friday be blessed!
SATURDAY
Do Not Listen to Hopelessness
Luke 8:49–50
While Jesus was still speaking, someone came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue leader. “Your daughter is dead,” he said. “Don’t bother the teacher anymore.”
Hearing this, Jesus said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed.”
Is hopelessness knocking on your door?
Sometimes we find ourselves in extreme situations where it seems like there is no solution or exit. Maybe even the person you love feels like all is lost, and there is nothing left to do.
In those moments, be careful what you listen to. Everything is possible for God. When word came that the worst possible thing had happened, Jesus told the synagogue leader, “Don’t be afraid; just believe.” Then He stepped into the house and raised the little girl from the dead.
Faith is the language of Heaven (Heb. 11:6). Put your eyes on God and do not listen to the voice of hopelessness.
Pray like this: Father God, according to Your Word, I ask for Your help—because I believe nothing is impossible for You. In the name of Jesus, amen.
May your Saturday be blessed!
SUNDAY
God Is Doing Something New
Isaiah 43:16–19
This is what the Lord says—
he who made a way through the sea,
a path through the mighty waters…
“Forget the former things;
do not dwell on the past.
See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
and streams in the wasteland.”
Do you feel like you’re a fairly optimistic person? Or would you describe yourself as pessimistic?
When we focus on what didn’t go well in the past or what might not go well in the future, we start to lose our faith.
Take a risk today and begin to think what might be a new thought for you: God is doing something brand new in your life, and it’s good. He’s the One who makes rivers in the desert. He carves a path where there used to be no path.
If you’re expecting the worst in your relationship, at your job, in your health, in your family—throw the despair and fear away, and put all your attention on God. Ask for His wisdom, and He will show you what to do.
Pray like this: Lord, help me to believe Your Word and walk in faith. I need something new and beautiful to “spring up” in my life today. I love You, and I choose to trust You with this issue that is causing me pain. In the name of Jesus, amen.
May your Sunday be blessed!
