MONDAY

You and the Sparrows

Luke 12:6–7 (NIV)

Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

If your heavenly Father is interested even in the needs of a small, very ordinary bird, He is certainly interested in YOU.

It’s very easy for us to start thinking that our desires, wishes, and hopes don’t matter to God. But that is never true. He will never find us uninteresting. In fact, He even knows the number of hairs on our heads!

So approach Him with full confidence. Don’t hesitate, thinking your presence or your request might annoy Him. He loves you and wants to take care of all your needs. He knows what is required moment by moment and can rescue you out of the deepest pit.

Today’s prayer: Father, I choose to trust Your love for me today. I put my life in Your hands and give You the things I’m worried about. I say yes to your invitation to live life by Your side. In the name of Jesus, amen.

May your Monday be blessed!

TUESDAY

Trust in God Brings a Blessing

Psalm 73:26 (NLT)

My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak,
but God remains the strength of my heart;
he is mine forever.

We were made to trust in God and depend on Him in every situation. That’s what He wants for us—to trust Him at that level. That’s what we get to do.

In fact, when we DON’T trust in Him, things often start going wrong in our lives—because we need Him. It’s unhealthy for us to depend on anyone other than God (Jer. 17:5–8).

If you find yourself at a crossroads, where something’s going on in your life and you have to decide whether you will trust in man or trust in God—may you have the strength to reach for your heavenly Father. He is good and dependable and an ever-present help in storms.

Today’s prayer: Father, it’s the desire of my heart to put my trust in You instead of the world. Please help me to look to You the next time I need help. In the name of Jesus, amen.

May your Tuesday be blessed!

WEDNESDAY

Putting Your Trust in God Changes the Atmosphere

Luke 12:31 (NLT)

Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and he will give you everything you need.

Simple trust in God is a big deal to His heart. When we choose Him, we don’t always see or feel the spiritual effect of that choice. Our natural eyes can’t always perceive what is happening around us in the spiritual realm.

But every time we choose God, putting our trust in Him instead of people or what the world says is true, it means something to Him. There is a response in the spiritual realm that we will eventually see in the natural realm in some way.

Whatever your relationship status is today—if you’re single, married, dating, or maybe it’s complicated—put your trust in God. He knows what you need, and you’re the delight of His heart.

Today’s prayer: Thank You, Father, for this opportunity to trust You. Today I put this worry in Your hands: ________. I choose You and Your leading instead of my fear. In the name of Jesus, amen.

May your Wednesday be blessed!

THURSDAY

How God Delights in You!

Psalm 119:142–144 (NLT)

Your justice is eternal,
and your instructions are perfectly true.
As pressure and stress bear down on me,
I find joy in your commands.
Your laws are always right;
help me to understand them so I may live.

Even if you’ve been a follower of Jesus for a very short time, you’ve probably seen how His ways are different than the ways of the world. He knows what real peace is like, and real peace is something the world can’t offer.

When you’re stressed out and wondering how you’re going to accomplish an assignment, find a solution, do your job, or whatever else—God is waiting to be your peace today.

As Psalm 119 says, listening for His voice will completely restore your joy! God knows what you need, and He delights in you even in your worst moments. Spend time with Him today listening to His heart for you.

Today’s prayer: Father, I need Your voice. Please lead me by the hand and remind me of how much You love me. Help me to hear You when You speak. In the name of Jesus, amen.

May your Thursday be blessed!

FRIDAY

God Treasures Your Prayers for Your Spouse

Luke 11:9–10 (TPT)

So it is with your prayers. Ask and you’ll receive. Seek and you’ll discover. Knock on heaven’s door, and it will one day open for you. Every persistent person will get what he asks for. Every persistent seeker will discover what he needs. And everyone who knocks persistently will one day find an open door.

Every prayer you pray matters deeply to your heavenly Father’s heart. They’re like seeds planted in the ground, and He’s like a farmer. He remembers each seed you hide in the soil, and He looks after them tenderly.

Sometimes we assume God doesn’t care about certain things. Maybe they’re silly or small, or we feel like we shouldn’t keep bothering Him about them. But He LOVES taking care of us. In fact, He wants us to pray about EVERYTHING, not just the big things where we know we need His help (Phil. 4:6).

So spread those seeds liberally! Put your trust in your Father.

One day the seeds you’ve planted will bear fruit. Keep praying and expecting God to move on your behalf.

Today’s prayer: Thank You, Father, for hearing my prayers about my spouse. I know You’ve been storing them up, and I thank You for the good plans You have for my future. In the name of Jesus, amen.

May your Friday be blessed!

SATURDAY

Seek God’s Wisdom Constantly

Psalm 119:27 (TPT)
Open up my understanding to the ways of your wisdom
and I will meditate deeply on your splendor and your wonders.

The Lord loves to come close to us and help us. Whatever we’re going through—even if we have just a little question about something—He’s waiting to give us wisdom. The ways of His wisdom are exactly what we need.

When was the last time you asked God for wisdom in your dating or marriage relationship?

Try to get in the habit of going to Him all the time, even when everything is turning out well. No matter what’s happening around you, you can ask for wisdom.

He works in the darkness (when things are horrible) and in the light (when things are happy) the same way (Ps. 139:12).

Today’s prayer: Father, please open my understanding to the paths of Your wisdom. Help me to see what You’re doing and have great courage in my life. In the name of Jesus, amen.

May your Saturday be blessed!

SUNDAY

He Loves You No Matter What

Psalm 139:17 (TPT)

Every single moment you are thinking of me!
How precious and wonderful to consider
that you cherish me constantly in your every thought!

When you read Psalm 139:17, do you feel like it’s true? Or do you catch yourself thinking you’re a special case and maybe God doesn’t really feel that way about you?

The love of God is something we need to remind ourselves of on a regular basis. It takes faith, the same as anything else in His Kingdom.

It’s easy to start thinking things about God and His love that aren’t true. “Maybe I need to work harder. Maybe I’m not quite good enough yet. Maybe He loves this other person more than He loves me because they’re better than I am.”

Today take the time to think deeply about God’s love for you. Meditate on Psalm 139:17 until your faith builds and you start to really understand how true that verse is—not just for other people but for you, too.

Today’s prayer: Father, please help me to see Your love today. Everywhere I go, may my heart turn toward You. In the name of Jesus, amen.

May your Sunday be blessed!
